For Shopify stores
Can AI shopping agents read your Shopify store?
Enter your store's address. We read what any visitor can see (your public product list, a few product pages, robots.txt and your agent discovery file) and score it from 0 to 100 on what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Shopify Catalog work from. Then we show you the three fixes that matter most.
A first look: what we found auditing 67 brand-name Shopify stores

Every check
Scores come from public pages only: Products we couldn't see (unpublished, or beyond the first 250) aren't counted.
Catalog eligibility: what we could see
Shopify Catalog is how ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity find Shopify products. Shopify decides which products go in. From outside your store we can only see some of what it looks at, so here's what we saw, and what we couldn't.

Rather we fixed it for you?
We're thinking about building a Shopify app that does this work for you: it finds missing barcodes (GTINs), filling them only from an exact match and leaving the rest blank for you, and drafts brand, colour, size and material, product categories, specs and alt text. It changes nothing in your store until you approve each draft. It would re-check your store every week.
It doesn't exist yet. Your answer decides whether we build it.

$59/mo
Growth: up to 2,500 products
Billed monthly through Shopify, cancel any time. Prices we're testing: if we build it, waitlist members hear first. Joining costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
We read only what any shopper's browser can see.
Your store's public product list (/products.json, or your sitemap if that's switched off), up to 8 product pages and their public data, robots.txt, /.well-known/ucp and your refund, privacy and terms pages. That's 25 requests at most.
No app, no admin access, no sign-in. We don't store your product data: we keep your store's address and its score so we can count how many stores have been checked.
Running WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads instead? Our free plugin runs the same kind of audit on your own site.
What it checks
Can an agent identify your products?
- Barcodes (GTIN) 20 pts
- Does each variant carry a valid UPC, EAN or ISBN? We check the digits, not just that the field isn't empty. Read from the product pages we sample.
- Titles 5 pts
- Readable, descriptive, and more than a bare SKU.
- Product type 8 pts
- Does every product say what it is?
Can it understand them?
- Descriptions 12 pts
- Long enough to say something, with specs, and not copied across products.
- Brand, colour and size 10 pts
- A real brand as the vendor, and colour and size options where they apply.
- Variants 8 pts
- Does every variant have its own SKU and price, and colour variants their own image?
Can it trust and show them?
- Product markup 10 pts
- Product JSON-LD with offers, price, currency, availability, image and brand or GTIN, on the pages we sample.
- Images 10 pts
- Enough of them, big enough, with alt text.
- Review ratings 5 pts
- Whether your markup carries a rating agents can read.
- Offer basics 4 pts
- A price above zero and a SKU on every variant.
Can it reach your store?
- AI crawler access 6 pts
- Whether your robots.txt blocks GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended or ClaudeBot.
- Agent discovery 2 pts
- Whether Shopify's
/.well-known/ucpfile is published. Shopify does this for you, so it's worth little.
Questions
Will this tell me whether I'm in Shopify Catalog?
No. Only your Shopify admin shows that. We show what we could see from outside that may keep a product out (no image, a price of zero, a missing refund policy) and list what we can't see, like your plan, your markets and your sales-channel settings.
Does it change anything in my store?
No. It only reads public pages, the same ones a shopper's browser loads.
Why is a check marked "not measured"?
Some things can only be read from product pages we sampled, or not at all if your store hides them. A check we couldn't measure is left out of your score rather than guessed.
My store has more than 250 products. Is it all counted?
We read the first 250 products in your public list and sample 8 product pages in detail. That's usually enough to show the pattern; the report says when your catalog was larger.
What do you keep?
Your store's address, its score, and a one-way hash of your IP address so we can count visitors without knowing who they are. If you join the waitlist, your email and answers too. See our privacy notice.
